Practical Bookkeeping Portfolio

Create a private BK1–BK12 practice portfolio covering source documents, double-entry records, cashbooks, receivables, payables, reconciliations, trial balances and controlled month-end work. Activities are self-directed and not tutor graded; use fictional or anonymised examples and do not enter sensitive customer information.

What the course develops

Evidence and double entry

Check source documents, understand transaction effects and practise balanced debit and credit entries.

Daily financial records

Record cashbook transactions, customer and supplier balances, supported payments and petty cash.

Reconciliation and corrections

Match bank evidence, check ledgers and trial balances, and preserve a supported audit trail.

Controlled month-end work

Practise foundational adjustments, statements, cash timing, VAT awareness and confidential payroll-record handling within role boundaries.

Suitable for school leavers, junior accounts and administration staff, small-business owners and organisations developing accurate financial records. Includes 54 worked examples and twelve private portfolio activities. This standalone course does not require another Business course purchase. Completion does not guarantee employment and does not confer professional accountant, registered bookkeeper, tax practitioner or auditor status.

Assessment and completion

Twelve 15-question module quizzes, four 30-question integrated Track examinations and one 60-question integrated Final Examination use a 70% pass mark. A completion certificate is available only after the required learning and assessments are completed. It records course completion and is not an accredited qualification or a guarantee of employment or workplace outcomes.
